Google takes a step towards more secure surfing

I talked in an earlier post about the possible security threat that Web 2.0 can bring to users.

Google has apparently taken a step towards making ordinary surfing more secure, by warning users when they are about to visit a webpage that could harm their computer, according to BBC News.

It was an initiative set up by Google, PC maker Lenovo and Sun in January 2006 to identify dangerous software and the websites that try to trick people into installing these malicious programs.
