Google continues to conquer the net

For me news about Google’s latest services is one of the more interesting topics on Internet. There is always something going on and you cannot stop wondering what will be their next step, what will happen and how big can they really become?

Today Google Blogoscoped released a screen shot and news about new secret Google Services. Some of these services that may become interesting are Mobile Marketplace, Google Real Estate Search and Google Events. There were also lot of services with names hard to guess like Google Online Assessment..

While surfing the net this friday night I also found a cool beta service, Google Hosted. Whats cool with it is how it lets you give Gmail to every user at your domain. Gmail for your domain is hosted by Google, so there’s no hardware or software for you to install or maintain. You have to sign up to be part of the beta test, and it appears to be aimed towards organisations and portals (who else has the need to give users e-mail accounts?).

Google services are of course for free at the moment, and the more people who use their serviecs to find different kind of information and data, the more can they charge for ads. But I think they also have something to collect from Companies and intranets. For example with Google Hosted that takes care of all email accounts. A search engine that works within the intranet so you don’t have to worry about where you put your files or how you name them. With Google Spreadsheet and similar softwares based on a server there is not even a need of powerful computers. Small clients with large screens and wifi access is enough.
